Everyone is special. We are each unique, or as B.J. Thomas sang (and who doesn’t like B.J.s?), “Everyone is beautiful in their own way.” Growing up, I was “special,” which is to say different. Weird. I didn’t really get it then, but I was gay. My peers picked up on that, even if I could not acknowledge it.
